The research report describes the results of the third edition of the RISE research on the topics of Enterprise 4.0. This edition is focused on how paradigm 4.0 is evolving, expanding the boundaries of the survey from the production departments (Industry 4.0) to the relationships among the different players of the value chains (Supply chain 4.0).

The project aims at creating custom medical devices from the three-dimensional scanning of biometric data from patients in childhood, through the use of additive manufacturing techniques and the use of new materials.

The goal of the observatory is to understand if and how digital technologies will transform the agricultural and agribusiness sectors, putting on the same table the economic, managerial, technological and technical competences.

This observatory is developed by RISE laboratory in partnership with the POLYTECHNIC OF MILAN.

The first edition of the research took place in 2014-2015, as The Digital Manufacturing Revolution.
In September 2016, the data collecting for the second edition of the research, entitled Industry 4.0, will start. We will address to any manufacturing enterprise, obviously starting with those who have already participated in the first edition, with the aim of mapping the state of the art of Industry 4.0 phenomenon, taking advantage of the ongoing evolutionary directions and representing the maturity journey of Italian companies.

Digital technologies are an enabler of the provision of new services and add functions and value to the product.
