Measurement Model to assess Resilience of Manufacturing companies (MES4RES)

MES4RES – Measurement Model to assess Resilience of Manufacturing companies is a research project funded under PRIN 2022 by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. It is conducted collaboratively by the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, the University of Florence, and the University of Brescia.

The main goal of MES4RES is to develop a conceptual and empirically validated model for measuring resilience in Italian manufacturing firms. The model aims to combine quantitative and qualitative elements to assess how well companies can absorb, respond to, and recover from disruptive events and structural challenges. It will identify measurement items, scales, and key performance indicators that can be applied across different industrial sectors and firm sizes.

Key project activities include:

  • Context analysis and identification of industry trends;

  • Development and operationalization of the resilience measurement model;

  • Empirical validation through data collection and expert analysis;

  • Recommendations for industry stakeholders and policy makers and dissemination of results.
