VOLT - Viability fOr circuLar manufacTuring

The VOLT project aims to support the sustainable and digital transition of manufacturing supply chains, with a specific focus on the Italian ceramic industry. In a context marked by increasing environmental, geopolitical, and energy-related risks, VOLT seeks to enhance supply chain resilience, transparency, and environmental performance.

Within the project, the RISE Laboratory of the University of Brescia contributes to the development of conceptual and methodological models for assessing greenhouse gas emissions and circularity at the supply chain level. In particular, RISE is responsible for the critical review of existing reporting standards, the definition of Supply Chain Carbon Footprint models, and the proposal of innovative approaches to estimate indirect (Scope 3) emissions.

The project develops a Circular and Intelligent Supply Chain (C&ISC) by integrating advanced supply chain carbon footprint models, circularity assessment frameworks, and digital technologies such as the Digital Twin. Through innovative measurement tools and collaborative approaches, VOLT enables companies to monitor emissions, reduce environmental impacts, and integrate circular economy principles across the entire value chain.
